Hello,

I have not started volunteering yet and I do not where I am going to volunteer but I am till excited about this project. I am just so excited to be out there working with children who will need my help and, hopefully, appreciate my time and effort. As I am posting this blog, my childhood memories come back to me. A few years ago, I came to the states as an Afghan refugee. I did not speak English nor had I attended school before. I was completely illiterate. No one could help me because my parents did not speak English and my school teachers did not speak Farsi. So I was all on my own to learn the material. Today, I see children going through a difficult and it makes me think back to my own difficult times and that is why I wish to help them out. The difference is no one helped me, I worked hard and learned everything on my own. I spent endless hours learning English and then the subjects, sometimes with the help of my teachers. I feel like my story can reach many children who are out there struggling with school. Hopefully, I'll make a difference in someone's life.

  1. So I forgot how to post the blog... 0___0 but I will write about it here. So I am still contacting other organizations, perhaps bigger and more well-known ones like Comfort Aid, to help me continue helping children in Afghanistan. I have spoken with some helpful individuals who are skilled in the areas of business and computer science to help me set up a website and put the plan in action. Our plan is to set up a website where people can donate online. And plan fund-raising events to further establish our organization. i will keep you updated with the website and how we will follow through with the rest of plans. Also, I have spoken with some individuals in Kabul, Afghanistan to help provide homeless children with shelter. We plan on renting an apartment for children/ families and/or provide water pumps for rural areas where they do not have fresh water for everyday needs.
